Interview with Informed Consent Author Deb Zoe Laufer and with Peter Jemison

I had the wonderful fortune to catch up with author Deb Zoe Laufer while she was here consulting on the world premiere of her play Informed Consent at Geva. I had the double luck of having Seneca artist and Ganondagan’s Site Manager Peter Jemison join me for this episode.

Deb’s Play is based on a true story of how, in an effort to help Native people in the Southwest, science became a predator, infringing on the rights and beliefs of the very people a scientist set out to help.

I was fascinated by Deb’s and Peter’s discussion about the play and the Native people who reside in the Grand Canyon, but also by Deb’s discussion of how a playwright approaches making a good play.
